I'm actually amazed that I haven't heard of this game series before. It's called God of War. Apparently, you play as a man called Kratos, and you have to kill various creatures and deities from Greek mythology, very violently. An example can be seen below.
Kratos is ripping the head off a Greek god here. That's just ridiculous. One of this game's biggest problems is obviously the violence. I saw some videos, and the violence gets pretty gruesome. The graphics that these video game consoles have today are just too detailed. Now, they can show all kinds of disgusting stuff to our kids. What happened to Tetris or Pong? Weren't they enough? I weep for the future, where we'll probably have virtual reality to worry about. The worst part of this game, however, is that it lets players kill gods. Obviously, these aren't real gods; they're Greek myths. What I'm afraid of is that it will one day lead to games being made in which you can actually THE God. There have already been jokes about this.
That, right there, would incite riots. It's outright blasphemous. If that game ever gets made, I'll lose all hope in humanity. Ideas like this should be able to be putout there and sold for money. I think there should be stricter censorship on games, and that games like God of War are just flat-out banned. Putting these ideas into kids' heads is just not right. The developers are going to go to Hell if they continue along this path.
Personally, if anyone is so awful at the art of parenting to buy their 'kid' as you say, an 18 game flagged for extreme gore, then that's not the only issue the poor child has to worry about.
